The palace of the ancient kings of Ubud is located in the center of the town
and build in the sixteenth century
In the 30s of the last century, even before the Indonesian independence,
the monarchy was abolished
The palace is now on display largely free, but still live at the back
of the royal family descendants
The grandeur of Ubuds royal palace dating back to 1890,
the time of warlord Cokorda Gede Sukawati
The current walls and elegant gates are predominantly the work of
the master I Gusti Nyoman Lempad
The puri (palace) remains influential and gives lot of money to local ceremonies
There are regular dance performances in the palace
