On the beach of Pantai Lovina or Lovina Beach, North Bali, it`s very quiet and a friendly atmosphere

At the end of the day, the locals come to the beach to play football or volleyball,
swim, picnic or have a chat

There is a friendly atmosphere

Lovina Beach (or Pantai Lovina or often simply Lovina) is a coastal area
on the northwestern side of the island of Bali

The coastal strip stretches from 5 km west of the city of Singaraja to 15 km west

The Lovina area contains the small villages (from east to west) of Pemaron, Tukad Mungga, Anturan, Banyualit, Kalibukbuk, Kaliasem and Temukus

It`s becoming more popular with tourists but remains far quieter than the
tourist hotspots of the island's south side

Popular activities for visitors are early-morning boat trips off the coast to see dolphins

Sacrifice in a temple along the beach

Picnic with the family

If you go at the dolphin statue to the right you see the fishermen village

The fishermen live in huts along the beach

Jimbaran.... beach, fishermen and seafood restaurants

Click on the pictures to enlarge

Jimbaran (south Bali) was just a tiny fishing village with a daily market

That all started to change in the 1980s and Jimbaran is now home to several beach resorts

Jimbaran Bay is fringed by one of the best beaches in Bali

The sand is fine and white, and the calm waters make it very suitable for swimming

The fishermen live right on the beach

Every fishing boat arriving gets help from other fishermen

The catch is viewed

The fish is transported in baskets

The dead fish remains on the beach

Head of a marlin, cut off by fishermen and left behind

Sacrifices on the beach

Fresh roasted corn for sale

The seafood restaurants on the beach are a major tourist draw in the evenings

The location is beautiful

Dining under the stars, with the sound of the waves in the background

We found the fish of poor quality and overpriced

Here we had the most expensive and only bad meal during our month stay in Bali

A traditional fish market is located at the northern end of the bay right by the beach
at the junction with Jalan Tukad Ayung

Announcement:  Forbidden to sell these shark

Unfortunately, the beach is here very dirty

The fishermen leave all their garbage behind on the beach

The beaches at the hotels are well maintained

There is little or no nightlife in Jimbaran

Jimbaran is a typical little Balineese society with lots of small streets

Hindu cemetery

For sale: petrol in bottles

Abandoned garbage along the way

Toy sales from a car

One of the many warungs

Sacrifice along the road

Flowers for offering
